dc.description.abstractRemote sensing and image processing are essential tools to monitor the changes on earth surface. The changes are measured through local and global techniques after applying on satellite image. The local technique analyzes the change on natural resource such as land, soil and water and global technique analyzes the changes for environmental degradation such as pollution and climatic change detection. In this thesis, change detection on the water body area through optimization algorithm using low, medium and high resolution satellite image is implemented with preserved edge and boundaries, for accurate measurement of water body area with respect to ground truth verification. However existing method perform less, due to improper edge extraction and boundary measurement in the low medium and high resolution satellite image. The delineation of water body area through existing methods are not accurate with respect to ground truth verification. The novel algorithm is required to cluster inner boundary of water body area for accurate delineation. newline
