Abstract: | Concrete filled steel tube CFST columns are structural members newlinethat effectively use the best properties of steel and concrete Steel tube at newlineouter perimeter effectively resists tension and bending moments and also newlineincreases stiffness of the section as steel has high modulus of elasticity The in filled concrete delays the local buckling of the thin outer steel tube Composite construction is recognized and frequently used nowadays due to the strength and stiffness that can be achieved, with minimum use of material The influence of locally stiffening the outer steel tubes by providing rectangular shaped flutes on the behaviour of CFST columns were analysed Steel concrete composite fluted SCCF columns are steel tubes which are incorporated with rectangular flutes and filled with concrete thereby enhancing the aesthetics and development area of sheet by which moment of inertia gets increased newlineThe interface bond strength between steel and concrete plays a newlinesignificant role The bond strength and displacement characteristics of steel concrete composite columns are also determined by incorporating rectangular shaped flutes to the steel tube Preliminary investigation was carried out on SCCF columns by varying the number of flutes and geometry of flutes The bond failure load of SCCF columns were compared with normal CFST Experimental results are validated by using ABAQUS software which is based on Finite Element Method FEM newline newline newline |
