Abstract: | Radiation dosimetry plays a vital role in the field of radiotherapy with different modes such as external beam radiotherapy, brachytherapy and nuclear medicine. Dosimetry is an important factor for both patient and occupational workers against tissue reaction for excessive exposure of radiation. Hence, radiation is measured with the help of different types of radiation detectors such as ionization chamber, diodes, film, thermoluminescence detector (TLD) and optical stimulated luminescence detector (OSLD). Among all the detectors, there is an increase in demand of TLD in the area of personnel dosimetry, medical dosimetry and environmental dosimetry because of its small physical size, high sensitivity, and linearity of response over a wide range of useful doses and reusability. In this regard, various research groups are focused on metallic oxides based TL material because of its cost effectiveness and increased sensitivity towards various types of radiation. Hence, this study focuses to develop a new composition of dopants material which is incorporated into host lattices of HfO2 based dosimeters. newline |
