Abstract: | Construction Project Schedule delay is often experienced in Linear Infrastructure Projects such as bridges, metros, and highway construction due to the complexities and multiple interfaces. Controlling the schedule delay is an essential requirement to achieve the expected profit in any project. The current scenario of Indian construction industry on control of delay in projects are not satisfactory and same is seen from the reports published by Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MOSPI), government of India, every year. The earlier studies developed risk assessment models to control delay, but the expected improvement is not achieved which forms basis for the present study. newlineThe aim of the present study is to identify the risk factors affecting the schedule of the linear infrastructure projects and to develop a risk impact prediction model to assess the risks in projects. A total of 40 risk factors identified in which 30 risk factors were collected from past studies and 10 new risks factors relevant to linear infrastructure projects are included. The risk factors significance is analysed using relative importance index method. The data required for the study are gathered through questionnaire survey and case studies of ongoing projects. A pilot study with experts is conducted to validate the quality of questionnaire. newline |
