Abstract

Prevalence rate of cervical spondylosis is 10 to 20 % after third decade. It is differed significantly in urban, rural population. Chikitsa is mentioned as Vighatana of Samprapti . AcharyaCharaka believes on the two factors or causes for all types of Vatavyadhis i.e Srotorodha and DhatuKshaya so the aim of Chikitsa is to remove causative factor as well as restoration of the Doshika equilibrium. cervical is common term used for greeva Pradesh and Greevasandhigata vata can be correlated with cervical spondylosis in modern point of view also. Cervical spondylosis is known as a chronicdegenerativedisorder of the cervical spine that affects the vertebral bodies and intervertebral disks of the neck as well as the contents of the spinal canal . However, as alternative medicine techniques become more mainstream, the line between alternative and conventional has become blurred.
