Objectives of the study: 1. To assess the of efficacy of Vaitarana Basti in the management of Amavata. 2. To assess the efficacy of Vaitarana Basti with amalgamated Agni Lepa in the management of Amavata. 3. To compare the efficacy of Vaitarana Basti and Vaitarana Basti with amalgamated Agni Lepa in the management of Amavata. Method: newlineMinimum of 70 patients, diagnosed and fulfilling the inclusive criteria of the study of either gender will be divided into two groups by alternate sampling method -Group A and Group B, each comprises 35 patients. and#61623; Group A- 35 patients will be treated by Vaitarana Basti for 8 days. newlineand#61623; Group B- 35 patients will be treated by Vaitarana Basti with Agni Lepa (Amalgamated) for 8 days. Patients were assessed on 1stday before treatment, 4th day between treatment, 8th day after treatment and 24th (+/-3 days) day i.e on follow up. Assessment of Samyak Basti Lakshanas made daily. Results: newlineGroup-A: Results are Statistically significant in both subjective and objective criteria s like Sandhi Shoola, Sandhi Shotha, Sandhi Graha, RA factor and DAS-28 plt0.01 newline12 (34%),19 (54%)and 1(3%) patient got mild, moderate and marked improvement in signs and newlinesymptoms of RA respectively and 3 (9%) patients did not get any relief. Group B: Results are Statistically significant in both subjective and objective criteria s like newlineSandhi Shoola, Sandhi Shotha, Sandhi Graha, RA factor and DAS-28 plt0.01 9 (27%),21 (60%) and 04 (10%)patients got mild, moderate and marked improvement in signs and symptoms of RA respectively and 1 (3%) patient did not get any relief. Mann-Whitney U test scores between the groups were non-significant, hence both groups are newlineproved to be effective statistically in the management of Amavata. newlinePercentage wise results and Post-hoc analysis test, which specifies in which stage onwards newlinetreatment has shown its efficacy proves that Vaitarana Basti with amalgamated Agnilepa has an edge over the Vaitarana Basti in the management of Amavata.
