The present experiment entitled Uptake and balancesheet of nitrogen and phosphorus in chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) as influence by molybdenum under rainfed condition was carried out, during two consecutive rabi seasons of 2013-14 and 2014-15 at the Rajola Research Farm, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya, Chitrakoot Satna (Madhya Pradesh). The experimental soil was sandy loam in texture, with pH 7.20, EC 0.24 dSm-1, Organic carbon 0.412% with available N (208.7 kg ha-1), P (15.41 kg ha-1), K (239.8 kg ha-1) and Mo (0.323 mg kg-1) The study involved sixteen treatment combinations consisting of four levels of phosphorus viz. P0: Control, P1: 40 kg P2O5 ha-1, P2: 60 kg P2O5 ha-1, P3: 80 kg P2O5 ha-1 and four doses of molybdenum viz. Mo0 : Control, Mo-1: 0.5 kg Mo ha-1, Mo2: 1.0 kg Mo ha-1 and Mo3: 1.5 kg Mo ha-1 in randomized block design in factorial concept with three replications. Chickpea (var. JG-11) was sown on 21 and 24 October in first and second years of the study with all other cultivation practices were adopted as per recommendations. newline
