Abstract: Power system is one of the most critical systems designed, developed and controlled by researchers. The basic requirement for the successful operation of modern digitalized society is healthy and stable operation of power system. The advancement of power systems due to the inclusion of various devices is highly appreciable but the issues associated with these developments cannot be avoided. Any silent failure, abnormal operation and aloperation of any component of power system can lead to a large failure and such a condition hinders both the steady and healthy operation of power system. History reports on power system blackouts clearly indicate the dark side of modern power system.
