Abstract: | The philosophy, science and technology have given a new dimension to the field of information processing technology in last three decades. Light detecting technology is absolutely paramount in the modern science and internet of thing applications. Low cost and light weight photodetectors based on organic materials like reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and organic semiconductor (OS) have drawn a lot of interest in the recent flexible and wearable optoelectronics devices. rGO based hybrid nanocomposite has shown potential applications in the field of nonlinear optical waveguides, photonic and gas sensor devices owing to their large surface to volume ratio, high thermal conductivity and high mobility. In order to utilize the most attractive properties of rGO, the hybrid nanocomposite photodetector can be developed using the composite consisting of rGO and ZnO. On the other hand, OS based photodetectors are rapidly gaining their attention as they offer a lot of benefits including low cost, easy of fabrication, mechanical flexibility as well as large area detection. Organic photodetector (OPD) can tune their spectral response from ultraviolet to near-infrared region by adjusting their electronic and optoelectronic properties. Most importantly, OPDs are more Energy efficient and Eco friendly. |
