Abstract: newline Cloud computing has become the next-generation architecture of IT organizations. newlineDespite traditional data storage solutions, cloud computing helps in the movement of newlineapplication software and databases to large data centres where the data and various newlineservices provided may not be completely trustworthy. Trust is a complex concept that is newlinedifficult to build and harder to sustain. In cloud computing, the service provider must newlinecontinuously demonstrate, maintain, and optimize the level of trust that the customer newlineexpects. In the absence of this demonstration, the effects are catastrophic. The thesis newlinepresents a framework for developing trust at the IAAS level in the cloud in a practical newlineway. It can be customized as per the business model and requirements of the market. In newlineaddition, it deals with the issues that are related to identify, develop, and maintain trust newlinewith the clients by satisfying the demands and providing generated report in the newlinepractical scenario. newlineWith cloud computing gaining popularity and a considerable amount of research newlinealready being conducted on the fundamental issue of trust in the cloud, researchers are newlinenow focusing on identifying the link between ethics and trust. Ethical issues in the newlinecloud depend on the application and the current circumstances. The dissertation newlineproposes a novel method for calculating the ethical trust of a service provider. The newlineapproach considers various factors that affect trust and ethics, as qualitative inputs via a newlinecustomized interface. The accepted inputs are fuzzified, and a specific set of designed newlinerules are used to compute ethical trust. The resulting output is then de-fuzzified using newlinethe centroid method. Such a measure can significantly affect the market presence of the newlinecloud provider in all situations. The prototype implementation of the algorithm provides newlinean insight into the calculation procedure, which works by accepting inputs as factors newlinewhich affect ethical trust in the cloud. The calculated level of ethical trust can help newlineidentify the importance of a
