Abstract: | Nutrition plays an important role in every steps of life span. In disease like cancer the role of newlinenutrition become more aggressive as cancer is a immunocompromised and catabolic disease. newlineThe correct knowledge of nutrition helps to cope with disease and treatment related newlinecomplication in cancer disease. The method of communication if done effectively it works newlinepositive on patients and as well as on healthy population. This study is designed to assess the newlinerole of effectiveness of multimedia module (e-content) among selected cancer patients. newlineThe study was done with the objective to prepare a questionnaire to assess cancer patient newlineeducation status about food and nutrition and develop E-content (documentary and website) newlinefor education and awareness in cancer patients as well as healthy population. The second newlineobjective of the study was To do the intervention of developed documentary among cancer newlinepatients. To assess the developed website efficacy through web experts, dieticians, and medical newlinepractitioners. newlineThe study was done in two phases (phase I) development of questionnaire through pilot survey, newlinedocumentary and website. The respondents were selected randomly for the purpose of study, newlineand divided in to two groups experimental group (all type of cancer patients) another is control newlinegroup (age matched healthy subjects). Intervention of documentary was done in experimental newlinegroup pre and post intervention data was analyzed through spss 20. (Phase II) The website was newlinedeveloped and send to experts for their reviews. The data was assessed. The statistical methods newlineused for analysis of data were mean, median, Standard Deviation, Percentage and Average, newlinePaired sample t test. The maximum number of respondents were from the age group of 31to 45 years in both groups. newlineThere was 33%, 35% female and 67%, 65% male in control group and experimental newlinerespectively. There was 20% patients of head and neck cancer, 10% breast cancer, 14.2% lung newlinecancer, 15.7% cervix cancer, 7% stomach cancer, 18.5% oral cancer patients. Most |
