Abstract: A marker of sepsis is defined as a measure that detects a normal biological state or that which predicts the incidence or severity of a pathological course or disease. Over the years, numerous markers of sepsis have been proposed, and it was impossible to cover all of them. So, we have limited our study to the most frequently used markers and those creating interest as a potential marker for the future. newline In day-to-day practice, clinicians frequently face two dilemmas: whether the patient has an infection, and whether the antibiotic treatment being given is effective or not. newline
