Abstract: | The Government of India is spending substantial amounts on school education. Even then the rank of India in World Literacy Rate is 124. The survey conducted by the Pratham all over India in 2018, reveals that there is an insufficiency in academic achievement among students in primary schools. They observed this shortcoming across government and private elementary schools. \their observation is a showcase of call for policy changes to enhance the academic achievement of students. newlineEvery student is distinctive in nature, so the schools have to generate have to generate a learning environment that maximize the competencies of students. This learning environment must make the students involved in activities and experience safety and support in the classrooms. Then it becomes a learner centered / child friendly environment. The child friendly environment supports social and emotional well-being of students. newlineThe aim of the study is to establish the relationship between child friendly environment, emotional health and well-being of primary school students. Based on review of the literature on child friendly environment in schools and emotional well-being of students, it was observed that the child friendly environment in primary schools is a notable component in influencing the emotional well-being of students. newlineBoth quantitative and qualitative approaches were used in this study. The normative survey method was employed to assess the levels of child friendly environment in primary schools and the levels of emotional health and well-being of primary school students. The qualitative approach, Focus Group Discussion and the program planning technique SWOT analysis were also used to supplement the results of the study. newline |
