Abstract: newlineThe magnetic materials are massively used for different purpose and applications. newlineSpinel ferrite is most extensively used ferrite due to its large electrical resistivity and newlinelow eddy current. Superparamagnetic nanoparticles easily demagnetize with field. newlineThe superparamagnetic type of spinel ferrites made a large enhancement in newlineferrofluids based technologies such as contrast MRI, drug delivery, hyperthermia and newlinebiosensors etc. The objective of the present work is to synthesis magnetic nanoparticles newlineand study their structural and magnetic properties. The second part is to prepare newlineferrofluids in various media using the synthesised nanoparticles. newlineThree different types of ferrite (Fe3O4, Cu-Zn ferrite and Ba-Sr ferrite) newlinenanoparticles are synthesized. The structural properties are measured by X-ray newlinediffraction, field emission scanning electron microscope, transmission electron newlinemicroscope and particle size analyser. The results demonstrated the formation of newlinespinel and hexaferrite structure with different shape and particle size distribution of newlinethe nanoparticles. The magnetic behaviour of nanoparticle investigated by the DCmagnetization newlinevs. magnetic field and magnetization vs temperature measurements. newlineFerrofluid is
