dc.description.abstract | Education is most important for the development of any nation. It teaches the way to find and use information. Higher Education imparts the depth of the knowledge for students in all aspects of life. The quality of education depends on the performance of the staff members in the institutions. Performance of Staff members are the basic building blocks of higher education .Performance is defined as the quality, efficiency and effective output of the work. The success of an employee in his work leads to the success of the organization. Performance appraisal otherwise called as performance review is used to evaluate the employee performance in their jobs based on specific criteria or standards. To improve and to identify the role of the employee in an organization performance appraisal is the only key factor. The intent of this study is to examine the level of awareness and perception of employees on performance appraisal system, the present performance appraisal methods practiced, the practice of feedback mechanism, the effectiveness of performance appraisal system in higher education institutions and to suggest a newlinesuitable performance appraisal system. newline newline | |
