Abstract: newline The present research was focused to treat the fabric dyeing industry wastewater by using various techniques including eco-friendly techniques. The physico-chemical characteristics of effluent newlinewere characterized by APHA standard method and the results were compared with CPCB norms newlineprescribed for dye industry wastewater discharge. The physico-chemical characteristics of dyeing effluent was higher than standard especially colour, TDS, COD and chloride which stressed the need of treatment. Hence, the effluent was subjected to treatment with 5 different treatments as follows (i) Treatment with synthetic coagulants: The dyeing effluent treated with different dosage of synthetic coagulants such as calcium oxide and ferrous sulphate. Among the treatments, 0.2g of ferrous sulphate treatment showed higher reduction of colour, TDS and COD from the effluent. (ii) Treatment with natural coagulant: The fabric dyeing effluent was subjected to coagulation with varied dosages of Moringa oleifera Lam seed powder (raw, defatted seed and seed powder with ferrous sulphate). The defatted seed powder resulted in higher reduction of pollutants from the effluent than raw seed powder. The seed was subjected to GC-MS, FT-IR and SDS-PAGE analysis. The FT-IR analysis clearly confirmed the connection of amine and hydroxyl groups in the removal of colour and other pollutants. The SDSPAGE technique showed the 27 kDa as molecular weight of lectin protein. The lectin protein might be involved in the coagulation process and responsible for the reduction of colour, TDS, COD and chloride. (iii)Bioremediation
