Abstract: Plant derived drugs i.e. Bio active compounds have been a panacea to most diseases since past three decades. Naturally derived bio active compounds also known as phyto-compounds are utilized in abundance in therapeutic field in recent years. These compounds at times not only mitigate the effect of ailment but also heal them. Hence such phyto-compounds have their own credibility in the medical arena. Several of the phyto-compounds obtained from plants have been successful in treating cancer, heart and neuro protective ailments etc. The naturally derived compounds confront with certain deficiencies in their dosage efficacious despite having many pharmacological activities solely due to poor aqueous solubility. Dosage of water soluble drugs was found to have telling effect on human body during oral administration. Hence, the need is to essentially increase the aqueous solubility of these phyto-compounds. Hydrotropes are some of those compounds used to enhance the solubility of sparingly soluble solutes. The present investigation pinholes on the escalation of solubility in phyto-compounds by hydrotropes. The study entails the impact of hydrotropes such as sodium acetate (SA), sodium benzoate (SB), sodium caprylate (SC) and sodium benzene sulphonate (SBS) on the aqueous solubility of a series of bio active compounds such as Naringenin, Hesperidin and Resveratrol. The influence of a wide range of hydrotrope concentrations (0 - 3.0 mol/L) and different system temperatures (303 - 333 K) on the solubility of bio active compounds is scrutinized. The solubility determinations are arrived at measuring the concentration levels of the dissolved bio active compound in aqueous hydrotrope solutions using standard procedures. newline newline newline
