Abstract: Universally, around 93600 visually impaired people are estimated as school going children. Out of the total population, the prevalence rate of school-aged children was 5%. Almost 1.5 million blind children were younger than 18 years of age; out of the 0.1 million were in Asia. In India, it was found that, 12 for every 10000 blind constitutes between the age group of 7-18 years. Maharashtra has six regions with 60 residential blind schools and around 4568 population were receding from the age between 7-18 years. In the present study, only the Western zones of Maharashtra have 530 visually impaired youngsters living in the residential schools, out of which 224 samples were chosen at the age group between 13-18 years as a participant. The present study was undertaken to empower the adolescent blind students by using two teaching methods on reproductive health. The teaching materials like use of self-instructional module and audio-CD-ROM, audio cassettes are needed to prepare and implement to increase the knowledge and improve in practices of blind adolescents related to reproductive health.
