Present work comprises of six chapters, which begins with extensive literature survey on supramolecular receptor specially third generation receptors calixarene emphasizing calix[4]pyrrole family. Further mechanism and various possible functionalization of calix[4]pyrrole has been successfully embossed. Further attempts on utilization (applications) of this functionalized calix[4]pyrrole has also been discussed. newlineThis literature survey is followed by the conventional and microwave assisted synthesis methods and characterization of calix[4]pyrrole moieties (ABCP and ABuCP) and its corresponding derivatives (ABCPTAA, ABCPTAQ and ABuCPTAA). newlineFurther chapter emphasizes on the generation of CPOH based PdNPs. Furthermore, they were utilized as a efficient nano catalysts for various C-C coupling reactions and the results confirms they can easily recovered, reused with same efficiency without considerable loss in its catalytic activity. newlineIn addition, recognition of amino acid and interaction of a novel calix[4]pyrrole system bearing carboxylic acid functionality (ABCP) has been investigated towards amino acids in methanol in the following chapter. ABCP showed remarkable color change with Tryptophan (Trp) in comparison to other amino-acids. The ABCP-Tryptophan complex showed 1:1 stoichiometry. Additionally, the same one is very well supported by density functional theory calculations. Also to explore the applications of sensors for guest analytes (antibiotics and metals), we have derivatised above calix[4]pyrrole (ABCP) with amino-anthraquinone and amino-quinoline i.e. ABCPTAA and ABCPTAQ which resulted in generation of high fluorescence capability sensor. newlineBesides, interaction of a novel calix[4]pyrrole system bearing carboxylic acid functionality (ABuCP) towards various nitroaromatics compounds (NACs) were investigated. Additionally, the density functional theory calculations confirm the possible mechanism for the binding of 1,3-DNB with ABuCP theoretically. We have also developed its derivative which acts as a new fluoresce
