Abstract: Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a important role in newlinethe achievement of national economic objectives that include an increase in the newlinesupply of manufactured goods, the promotion of capital formation, the newlinedevelopment of indigenous enterprises and skills and the creation of employment newlineopportunities. The main socio-economic goals include remedial measures in order newlineto reduce the regional imbalances within the country. Their major socio-political newlineaims include wider distribution of socio-economic and political power, creation of newlineopportunities for people with initiative to rise by their own ability and hard work. newlineThe small firms fund it difficult to maintain their existence as the cases of merger newlineand acquisition are continuously increasing. They suffer from low productivity newlineand poor product quality. Infrastructural lacking includes inadequate power newlinesupply, transportation, water supply etc. Small firms can not bear the cost of newlinesetting up independent power and supply unit. Though India has no shortage of newlinehuman resource, most of them are unskilled workers, large firms pay higher newlineremuneration and employ skilled workers. The MSMEs have to operate with unskilled or semi-skilled workers, thus, the MSMEs suffer from lack of adequate newlinecapital. Marketing is the most important and problem for MSME sector. Most the newlineMSMEs do not have adequate financial support to develop marketing section and newlineare not aware of modern low-cost marketing technique. Therefore the imperative newlineof MSMEs sector analysis becomes all the most essential to measure the newlineperformance result. Against such a backdrop the present study is an attempt to newlineexamine the performance of MSME in terms of contribution to GDP, analyses the newlinetotal MSME, Investment and Export in the country and trends in changing pattern newlineand growth of MSME in Indian states. newlineThe thesis has been divided into six chapters. The First Chapter is newlineIntroductory in nature containing the research problem, objectives and newlinemethodology. The Second Chapter deals with Review of Literature.
