Abstract: newline Field experiment entitled Studies on Productivity and Profitability of Wide Row newlineSpring Planted Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) with Intercrops was conducted newlineduring spring season of 2019-20 and 2020-21 at the Research Farm of ICAR-Indian Institute of newlineSugarcane Research, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India in the Field No. G- Block (6/2). The newlineexperiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design, comprised fifteen treatments viz., sole newlinesugarcane (at 90 cm row spacing): T1, sole sugarcane (at 120 cm row spacing) : T2, sole newlinesugarcane (at 150 cm row spacing): T3, sugarcane (at 90 cm row spacing) + cluster bean (green newlinevegetable pods) : T4 (1:1), sugarcane (at 120 cm row spacing) + cluster bean ( green vegetable newlinepods) : T5 (1:2), sugarcane (at 150 cm row spacing) + cluster bean (green vegetable pods): T6 newline(1:3), sugarcane (at 90 cm row spacing + okra) : T7 (1:1), sugarcane (at 120 cm row spacing) + newlineokra : T8 (1:2), sugarcane (at 150 cm row spacing) + okra : T9 (1:3), sugarcane (at 90 cm row newlinespacing + sesame) : T10 (1:1), sugarcane (at 120 cm row spacing) + sesame : T11 (1:2), sugarcane newline(at 150 cm row spacing) + sesame : T12 (1:3), sole cluster bean at 60 × 30 cm row spacing : T13 , newlinesole okra at 45 × 20 cm row spacing : T14 and sole sesame at 30 × 10 cm row spacing : T15, newlinereplicated thrice. newlineRow spacing significantly influenced most of the growth parameters and yield attributes newlineof sugarcane viz., tiller population, leaf area index, cane height, no. of leaves, dry matter newlineaccumulation, no. of millable canes, cane length, cane diameter, single cane weight and newlineultimately the cane and sugar yield. However germination, pol, purity and commercial cane newlinesugar percentage were found non-significant. Intercropping of sugarcane with okra fetched the newlinehigher land equivalent ratio, nutrient uptake, cane equivalent yield as well as net returns. newlineSugarcane sole (90 cm row spacing) at 60, 90, 120, 180 and 210 DAP and treatment newlinesugarcane (90 cm row spacing) + okra at 90, 180 and 240 DAP produced higher tiller newlinepop
