Abstract: An experiment entitled Assessment of Plant Diversity, Biomass and Carbon Sink Potential in newlineUrban Green Spaces of Prayagraj (U.P.) was conducted in Prayagraj City during 2019-21 to newlineassess the diversity indices, phytosociology and Carbon Sink Potential. The result of present newlinestudy reports that tree species Ficus benghalensis is most abundant species and has maximum IVI newlinevalue (46.56) in site-1 followed by Calistemon vimnalis (38.72) in site-5 and Albizia libbeck newline(35.54) in site-2 while least abundant is Azadirachta indica (2.68) in site-1. Shrub species Grewia newlinehirsuta is most abundant species and has maximum IVI value (68.65) in site-5 followed by newlineAbroma augustsa (57.89) in site-4 and Woodfordia fruticosa (43.01) in site-10 while minimum newlinewas recorded in Caricca carandas (13.46) in site-9. Herb species Tridax procumbens is most newlineabundant has maximum IVI value (75.03) in site-5 followed by Tridax procumbens (58.97) site-4 newlineand (56.87) site-2 while minimum is for Euphorbia hypercifplia (19.66) in site-10. Tree diversity newlinewas recorded highest (36 species) in site-10 followed by site-1 (27 sp.) and site-6 (25 sp.) while newlineminimum number of species (14 sp.) recorded in site-5. Shrub diversity was recorded highest (12 newlinespecies) in site-3 followed by site-6 (11 sp.) and site-2 (10 sp.) while minimum number (5 newlinespecies) recorded in site-5. Herb diversity was recorded highest (11 species) in site-1 while newlineminimum number (5 of species) recorded in site-5. In Tree species maximum Shannon index newline(3.35) was recorded in site-10 followed by in site-1 (3.12), site-8 (2.89) and site-9 (2.63) while newlineminimum (2.03) was recorded in site-2. For shrub species, maximum Shannon index (2.47) was newlinerecorded in site-3 followed by in site-6 (2.37), site-2 (2.28) and site-10 (2.17) while minimum newline(1.57) was recorded in site-5. newlineIn herb species maximum Shannon index (2.38) was recorded in site-1 followed by in newlinesite-8 (2.29), site-6 (2.28) and site-3 (2.18) while minimum (1.77) was recorded in site-7. For newlineTree species maximum Simpson ind
