Abstract: Wireless networks are constantly under security threats due to a large number of inherent newlinevulnerabilities. Theseattacks range from simple denial of service (DoS) attacks, to highly newlinecomplex grey hole, masquerading and man in the middle attacks. Most of these vulnerabilities newlineare due to improper deployment architectures, wherein rules for packet access, node access and newlinerouter access are not strictly defined. Due to these vulnerabilities, thereis a reduction in the newlineoverall quality of service (QoS) for the wireless network. Moreover, these primary newlinevulnerabilities expose the network to other secondary attacks, which further degrade network newlineperformance. These secondary attacks include but are not limited to, malicious packet injection newlinedue to improper trust levels,checksum invalidation due to packet tampering, etc. In order to newlinereduce the probability of these attacks, this textfurther proposes a novel trust based blockchain newlinepowered multichannel protocol. This protocol utilizes adistributed blockchain based on proof newlineof work (PoW) consensus for safeguarding the network against securitythreats. The security newlinelevel of the proposed system is further strengthened with the help of trust based routing, newlinewherein node energy, intermediate distance and packet forwarding values are utilized to newlinemaintain a high QoS performance. Furthermore, the QoS performance is improved via newlineintegration of multichannel communication in the system. It is observed that the proposed newlineprotocol improves security performance by 8% when compared to other state of the art newlinemethods, and improves the QoS performance by 6% when compared to other blockchain and newlinetrust establishment methods.
