Abstract: | We cannot hold a torch to light another s path without brightening our own. Technology has refined the world. Technology has pervaded seamlessly into all fields. Education being no exception to this trend has been engulfed by those changes in the present world. The teaching learning process has become hi tech, sweeping changes are taking place in the classroom by the introduction of smart classroom, concept maps, video, multimedia, audio clips and so on. The present era is digital era and the children are increasingly being techno-savvy. As a result, all those connected to learning and teaching must first renew their vision to establish digital age environments. Instructional Technologies being an integral part of today s learning environment meet today s teaching and learning demands. Instructional Technologies have the potential to transform education, enhance teaching and improve student learning. The use of instructional technologies in teaching will develop reflection, collaboration and autonomy among learners. This in turn, would lead to quality in education and continuous self-development. It is vital that teacher educators and teachers focus on a collaborative vision of sound technology integration across core curricula. newline |
