Abstract: This thesis will investigate the legislative and disciplinary framework with reference to applicability and usage of forensic science in criminal justice system. It will also try to explore the causes as to why the role of forensic science in Indian criminal justice administration is still at very Initial stages, even though since the last era, major technological advancement has been made as we land to a more scientifically upgraded society. The Indian legal system needs to be remolded and changed towards the usage and utilization of result oriented forensic investigation and trial, so that speedy remedy and justice to the victims of heinous crimes may be provided. The thesis concentrates on the usage of forensic science and the studies of Forensic Entomology, Forensic DNA Analysis, Forensic Chemistry, Bloodstain Pattern Analysis, Forensic Art and is limited to these and doesn t cover Cyber Forensics or Computational Forensics. Due to the advancement in criminal justice system, there has been a remarkable changes in crime investigation techniques as far as technological developments is concerned as observed in the previous decade. The utilization of scientific tools and techniques in crime detection by police officials, for identification of alleged offenders helps in establishing a crucial link between the crime and alleged offenders. These physical evidences are reliable to determine the accuracy of the innocence or guilt of the alleged criminal or offender. Understanding the concept of Criminalistics/Forensic Science Crime is a very old concept in world, and has evolved with the evolution of Homo Sapience. Generally, with the development of mankind there was a need generated when the human started living in the society.
