Abstract: The key objective of the present study are to analyze the socio economic development of Hazaribag district and the role of NGO s in it. To measure the effectiveness of the women empowerment in terms of family income, dignity and respect, economic value, role of NGO s, women empowerment status etc. Here, in this research we are focusing on Socio economic development and women empowerment through NGO s in Hazaribag District which is a process that seeks to identify both the social and the economic needs within a community. The First chapter begins with the introduction of the study. In second chapter, Status of different programs and schemes for socio-economic development and women empowerment sponsored by Central and State Government through NGO s in Hazaribag District.The Third chapter covers review of literature. The Fourth chapter deals with research methodology of the study, statistical tools used for analysis. The Fifth Chapter contains data analysis ,interpretations and observations involved in the study. The Sixth Chapter is about findings, conclusions and suggestions. Primary data have been collected through Questionnaire and interview, Secondary data have been collected through books, journals, magazine and newspapers and with the help of various online journal. Sample size is 200 and sampling frame are the beneficiaries who get benefitted through selected Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) in Hazaribagh like Jan jagran Kendra, SUPPORT, Jan Sewa Parishad. The research design used in this study includes both exploratory and descriptive research. Data has been analyzed with the use of descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, cross tabulation, correlation analysis and the testing of hypothesis to arrive on conclusions. Thus, the NGO s are working actively on state and central run government programs and schemes and uplifting the overall socio economic conditions and empowering women in the Hazaribag district. newline
