Abstract: Although significant advances have been made in the development newlineof metallic biomaterials for total hip and knee replacement it is still requires newlineclinical alternatives for high load bearing applications Aseptic implant newlineloosening caused by repeated loading to be one of the main problems for newlineimplant failures The life of the implant is determined by surface properties of newlineimplants and interactions with surrounding tissues In addition the clinical newlinesuccess of the implant is directed by bone cell response on the implant surface newlineand long term stability newlineIn the present study four series of substituted HAp nanoparticles newlineprepared through the sonochemical method The extensive powder newlinecharacterisation studies such as Particle Size Analysis PSA X ray newlineDiffraction XRD X ray Fluorescence XRF Fourier Transform Infrared newlineSpectroscopy FTIR Transmission Electron Microscopy TEM and specific newlinesurface area measurement SBET are performed to evaluate the properties of newlinethe HAp nanoparticles In addition the metal substituted Hap Chitosan newline CTS nanocomposites are prepared through ultrasonic dispersion The newlinecomposite coating on 316L Stainless steel SS implant is achieved through newlinethe spin coating technique and the obtained composite and coatings are newlinecharacterised using Scanning Electron Microscopy SEM newline
