Abstract: Health professional schools have been challenged to prepare their students to meet the evolving health care needs of society In the current scenario student centered teaching learning methods are of at most priority to facilitate undergraduate students to acquire core skills of higher education This study was aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of different teaching learning methods like Case Based Learning method Video demonstration method and flipped class room method on academic performance among undergraduate students This study was conducted among 3 batches phase I medical students in a tertiary care institution in India The Teaching learning materials for different methods were developed and evaluated for their effectiveness on academic performance through randomized controlled trials Control group received traditional teaching and intervention group received Case Based Learning method Video demonstration method and flipped class method The statistical analysis of the data showed that the scores of post test critical thinking ability Internal Assessment and OSPE were significantly higher in the intervention group compared to control group To conclude, the scientific evidence has been generated using RCTS to show that Case Based Learning and Video demonstration method and Flipped class method are effective in improving academic performance in cognitive psychomotor and affective domains among undergraduate medical students The information generated can be of immense help to academicians to adapt these TL methods in the current CBME curriculum rolled out by National Medical Commission newline
