Abstract: Nanomaterials are small sized particles with dimensions ranging from 1-100 nm. The newlineproperties of the nanomaterials are very much different from the bulk due to large surface-tovolume newlineratio. Nanomaterials show typical properties such as surface Plasmon resonance in metal newlinenanoparticles,1, 2 quantum confinement effects in semiconductor nanoparticles.3,4 Nanomaterials newlinehave a wide range of applications in Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, newlineMedical Sciences and Environmental Sciences. newlineMetal nanoparticles are particularly important in catalytic applications.5,6 Among them, Au newlinenanoparticles have great applications in drug, gene and protein delivery and also in bio sensing.7 newlinePd and Ag nanoparticles are used in the hydrogenation of oxygen-containing olefins and newlineepoxidation of ethylene with oxygen, respectively.8 newline
