Abstract: The way businesses, consumers, suppliers, government and other stakeholders are leading their lives today is creating an environment of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. The Indian real estate sector was traditionally an unorganized sector with minimal level of expertise and professionalism and lack of foreign investment and witnessed lack of financial resources and investments. Firms are supposed to be equipped with information and requirements of customers and investors in real time for better decision making, quick response, and innovation and gain competitive advantage. newlineLiterature Review Lack of research work on the knowledge management aspect in real estate companies of India was observed. Four organisational factors were identified ie. Organisational culture, organisational structure, rewards and recognition and information and communication technology. Also the analysis continued with testing the impact of these organisation factors on employee willingness towards knowledge management practices. Five hypotheses were formed. newlineDesign, methodology, approach A structured questionnaire was developed with available literature in this field to capture contemporary KM practices and to analyse the behavioral aspects of real estate employees. The target research population was from real estate companies of India. Likert 5 point scale was used. newline Factor analysis was used. Multiple regression was used to test the hypotheses. newlineFindings The results of regression test indicated that among all the variables, organisational culture influences the knowledge management practices the most, secondly the influence of organisational structure, significant impact of information and communication technology and reward of recognition was found. newlineResearch limitations It would have been better to use a longitudinal study to collect useful long term data to understand how the KM practices would be influenced when organizational factors dimensions are changed through/by management. newline newline newline
