Abstract: This work focuses on the development of affinity-based electrochemical biosensors for hepcidin detection. The biosensing platforms were fabricated with different nanomaterials such as gold-silver core shell nanoparticles and molybdenum disulfide nanoflowers-graphene nanoribbons followed by immobilization of antibody and aptamer, respectively. The observed limit of detection was 0.857 pg/mL and 0.173 pg/mL, respectively. The biosensors provided satisfactory results in terms of performance. newlineThe other part of the work aimed at the development of a lipid nanocarrier for efficient delivery of hepcidin specific siRNA. The liposome encapsulated siRNA showed the efficient delivery of siRNA and suppression of hepcidin in the liver. In conclusion, the siRNA loaded ligand conjugated liposome could prove to be a potent delivery vehicle for efficiently delivering and suppressing hepcidin expression, thus, offering an alternative therapeutic approach against hepcidin. newline newline
