dc.description.abstractThe study was conducted to find the effect of Activity based teaching strategies on Achievement in English, Communication Skills and English Language Anxiety. The study was conducted on a sample of 150 students of class VII. Pre test post test control group design was used for the study. The control group had 75 students and experimental group had also 75 students. The experiment was conducted for about 60 days during which the experimental group was taught through activity based teaching strategies and control group was taught through traditional teaching strategy. The data was collected using self constructed Achievement test in English, self constructed Communication skills test and foreign language anxiety scale (1986) by Horwitz and Horwitz and Cope. Data were analysed using Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and t test was also employed. The results revealed that there was statistically significant effect of activity based teaching strategies on the scores of achievement in English, communication skills and English language anxiety. newline
