Abstract: Every child is born with some intellectual potential which grows and develops with newlinethe help of maturity and experiences. Intellect also helps in providing the right outlet newlineto our emotions which could otherwise overwhelm us and be destructive. This newlinephenomenon is called emotional intelligence and it s a relatively new concept. It is a newlinewell-known fact that teachers are the most important role models for children, even newlinemore than their parents. As they are thus, the creators of future citizenry for the newlinecountry as well as for the world, it is important that we understand how they are newlineplaced in terms of emotional strength, learning and thinking styles, right at the newlinebeginning of their teacher training, as this will eventually reflect in their attitude and newlinetheir willingness to create the right experiences and environment for their students. It newlineis also important to understand whether these factors are associated with their general newlineintelligence or not. An assessment at an early stage can lead to their adequate training newlineand counselling so that they can be comfortable and motivating in their respective newlineteaching arenas. The present research work which is entitled as,- A Study of newlineEmotional Intelligence as a Correlate of General Intelligence and Style of newlineLearning and Thinking is undertaken to promote healthy development of the B.Ed. newlineStudents. It would be of immense help to teachers and administrators in particular and newlineparents in general, as all these partners play a supporting role in creating effective newlinecitizens in the long run. The study will also help teachers to understand proficient in newlinethe four A s of Emotional Intelligence, that is Awareness, Acceptance, Attitude and newlineAction. The result of the present study will also throw light on the impact of general newlineintelligence on the SOLAT of the B.Ed. Students. This study will also reveal how the newlinesuccess in a particular subject is related with the hemisphere of the brain.
