dc.description.abstract | The Major Objectives of the Study are to find out the various business models adopted by the newlinedifferent MFI s that are operating in the region of Karnataka, to understand and analyze the newlinefactors particularly the financial innovations that led to the success of microfinance in India, to newlinedetermine determinants of financial sustainability and social sustainability that to analyze newlinewhether which business model is sustainable using various determinants. newlineThe Primary Raw Data would be collected based on the information gathered by means of newlineInteraction with Personnel for discussion on process used in the MFI for disbursement of loan newlineand collection methods adopted along with various financial services with product and process newlineinnovations done to the organization all the time. This information would be essential in newlinedeveloping the 16 case studies of the MFI that are operational in the region of Karnataka. The newlineFinancial data was collected from world bank websites for the period of 10 years from 2009- newline2019. newlineThe 16 MFI s considered for the study are BSS, SKS, spandana spoorthy, Madura, SKDRDP, newlineFincare, Ujjivan, Bandhan, Equitas, Janalakshmi, Grameenakoota, Asirvad, IDF, BAIF, newlineChaitanya, and Sanghamithra. Statistical tools like averages percentages, mean, standard newlinedeviation, charts; test procedures such as One way ANOVA test, Correlation and Regression test newlinehave been used. newlineThe overall findings on the business model and financial innovations being a challenge for MFIs, newlinea number of factors in financial sustainability such as Leverage ratio, capital turnover ratio, newlinePortfolio at Risk, Operational Self-Sustainability, and operating expenses per loan portfolio newline(OLEP) as well as Gross Loan Portfolio (GLP) are considered to be high important factors.The current study is significant in examining the different problems that microfinance newlineinstitutions encounter in producing a living standard alleviation tool for the poor that is part of newlineboth social and financial sustainability. The purpose of this study was to uncover numerous newlineelements that influence the issues that microfinance institutions confront, as well as to investigate newlinetheir business models in depth. newline | |
