Abstract: There are more than 1 billion vehicles on the roads throughout the newlineworld and many people have been killed in car accidents because of the newlinefailure to follow a road or stay on a road Driving a long distance is also a newlinechallenge for individuals As a result driver assistance systems and even newlineunmanned vehicles have been researched for many years to help drivers to newlinedrive safely and comfortably The first requirement of such a system is to newlinedetect other vehicles obstacles road surface Many former driver newlineassistance systems are gradually appearing in new vehicles Recently luxury newlinecars have been equipped with front and rear facing cameras for detecting newlineobjects in front of and behind the vehicle The new vehicles have Blind Spot newlineDetectors which uses camera positioned in both side rear view mirrors This newlinesystem can detect vehicles in the blind spot which humans cannot detect when newlinedriving and is crucial to safe lane changes The next step in driving system newlinedevelopment is to track and follow other vehicles and the road The ultimate newlinegoal is autonomous vehicles which can operate in all environments without newlinedrivers newlineTransportation is crucial to the development and defense of newlinesocieties and nations This is the reason why many countries are developing newlineunmanned systems such as unmanned fighter jets to replace piloted fighter newlinejets robots to replace human soldiers and autonomous vehicles to transport newlinematerials newline newline
