Abstract: | The deliverance of TV services via the Internet Protocol IP network globally known as Internet Protocol Television IPTV is the predominant next generation broadcast networks The Content Delivery Network CDN for IPTV relies only on Secure Multicasting SM The SM plays a vital role to ensure that the audio and visual contents are transmitted only to the paid subscribers The security of the group is guaranteed by encrypting the packets anticipated for the group with a shared secret key called as session key The foremost task of multicast key management system is the generation distribution and updation of the session key intended for the group newlineThe exigent task of SM is to share the cryptographic materials to a large and dynamically varying number of subscribers in the presence of unpredictable group membership changes In group dynamics it is compulsory to change the session key to enforce the forward and backward secrecy It ensures that the evicted subscriber should not be allowed to receive any future contents and the newly joined subscriber should not be able to access the past contents The process of enforcing the security requirements of the group by maintaining the forward and backward secrecy is termed as group rekeying The session key should be refreshed periodically to increase the difficulty level for the attackers newline |
