Abstract: | Cathodes, the primary component of a battery, require expensive components, massive manufacturing, and complicated synthesis processes. A greater energy density and more efficient cathode material is still being researched to replace the existing cathode materials for improved output. Even though several batteries have been researched as alternatives to Li-ion batteries, they are unlikely to be widely used in the near future. Thus, the immediate accomplishment of superior battery technology is to tune in the current Li-ion battery for optimal usage. Polyanionic cathodes have drawn greater attention towards Li-ion batteries owing to their stability during the Li-ion insertion/extraction. Tavorites are one among them with greater benefits for the electrochemical systems especially in Rechargeable batteries. Herein, LiVMO4F (M=B, Si) materials are investigated as positive electrode materials for Li-ion batteries due to its higher safety and thermal stability.
