Abstract: | Bacterial infections with resistance to present antibiotics are increasing day by day. newlineSo, the need of developing antimicrobial agents is of great importance. Fish is a rich source newlineof antimicrobial peptides which has broad spectrum of activity against fish as well as newlinehuman pathogens. The present study focuses on the bioactive peptides with pharmaceutical newlineapplications and with its multifunctional applications. The overuse of antibiotics result in newlineincrease in multi-drug resistant bacteria. The antioxidant activity were also screened newlinepreliminary using bioinformatics tools and other further by colorimetric assays. In this newlinepresent research, we are focusing on short peptide molecules with biological activity. From newlinepreviously established Channa striatus (Cs) transcriptome, piscidin (Pi) and tachykinin newline(Tac) protein with 256 and 345 base pair sequence, 70 and 115 amino acid long proteins newlinewere isolated respectively.
