Abstract: | In this report, we present the visible-light driven photocatalytic organic pollutant removal using NiFe2O4/g-C3N4 based nanocomposites under visible-light illumination. The photocatalytic activity of the nanoparticles was studied by colour and colourless organic pollutants such as methylene blue/ rhodamine B and tetracycline in presence of the chemical oxidant. The composite formation, sulfur-doping, and nitrogen-deficiency enhance the optical behavior of the g-C3N4 with effective charge separation which accelerates the pollutant removal efficiency. The enriched degradation efficiency attributed to enhancement in the optical absorption ability of the nanocomposite compared with those of pure forms. In particular, carbon dot added nanocomposite system exhibits the Z-scheme degradation process. In one hand, N-deficient g-C3N4 coupled NiFe2O4 heterojunction is separate the charge carrier s through intermediate band structure. On the other hand, reduced graphene oxide supported nanocomposite is showed excellent degradation efficiency. In addition, S-doped nanorod structure with heterojunction formation can degrade the tetracycline drug molecule over 60 min of light irradiation newline |
