Abstract: newline Education, training, teaching and instruction although these words are interrelated but are not same. Among these teaching occupies an important role. It is the teaching of the teacher which has a life-long impact on the learner. So teaching is been regarded as a skill which can be systematically developed in the teacher. Only Degrees or diplomas in teachers training are not sufficient enough to acquire this skill. It is dependent upon many factors. Among those contributing factors the organizational climate of the school and the levels of job satisfaction are considered as the prime criterion variables. The present study focuses on the impact of these two independent variable on the Teaching Competency as the dependent variable. newlineSignificance of the Study: newlineThis study would be helpful to know about the status of General Teaching Competency of Secondary School Teachers of West Bengal. newlineand#61623; This study would cast light on the status of Organizational Climate of teachers of secondary schools. newlineand#61623; This study would help to know about how much teachers are satisfied in their profession. newlineand#61623; This particular study would help to find out if there is any effect of demographical variables upon General Teaching Competency of Secondary School Teachers. newlineiv newlineand#61623; This particular study would help to find out if there is any effect of demographical variables upon Organizational Climate of Secondary School Teachers. newlineand#61623; This particular study would help to find out if there is any effect of demographical variables upon Job satisfaction of Secondary School Teachers. newlineand#61623; This particular study would cast light upon the relationship between General Teaching Competence and Organizational Climate of Secondary School Teachers. newlineand#61623; This particular study would cast light upon the relationship between General Teaching Competence and Job Satisfaction of Secondary School Teachers. newlineObjectives of the Study: newlineFollowing objectives were identified for this particular study newlineO1: To compare General Teaching Competence of Secondary School Teachers in respect to Gender (Male and Female). newlineO2: To compare General Teaching Competence of Secondary School Teachers in respect to Locale (Urban and Rural). newlineO3: To compare Organizational Climate of Secondary School Teachers in respect to Gender (Male and Female). newlineO4: To compare Organizational Climate of Secondary School Teachers in respect to Locale (Urban and Rural). newlineO5: To compare Job Satisfaction of Secondary School Teachers in respect to Gender (Male and Female). newlineO6: To compare Job Satisfaction of Secondary School Teachers in respect to Locale (Urban and Rural). newlinev newlineO7: To find out the relationship between General Teaching Competence and Organizational Climate of Secondary School Teachers. newlineO8: To find out the relationship between General Teaching Competence and Job Satisfaction of Secondary School Teachers. newlineMajor Findings: newlineThe hypotheses of the study were stated basing upon the objectives stated above. Each hypothesis was tested in terms of measurable behaviors and the major findings of the study are for all the three variables the gender and locale does not have a major impact. But there exists a perfect positive relationship between Organizational Climate and Teaching Competency and Job Satisfaction and Teaching Competency. There also exists a perfect positive relationship between the two independent variables. So it can be interpreted that, Teaching Competency is positively related with Organizational Climate and Job Satisfaction .If systematic attempts can be made to increase the Organizational Climate and Job satisfaction of the Secondary School Teachers then the level of Teaching Competency can be improved. newlineConclusion: newlineThere are a number of independent variables which has strong impact on the Teaching Competency of the teachers. Among those the researcher had taken Organizational Climate and Job Satisfaction as the independent variables for the study. It is found that there exists a perfect positive relationship among the three variables. So this should be taken care of by the educational administrator in order to enhance the teaching proficiency.
