Abstract: | Workplace spirituality has steadily been gaining attention in the last newlinecouple of years. Many researchers have investigated the role of newline workplace spirituality with the aim of generating research data newlinethat would firmly entrench this construct as vital in the workplace. newlineThere are however, only a few which have investigated spirituality newlinein the Indian private banking sector, with outcomes of organizational newlinecitizenship behaviors. In this study, both are investigated, and a newlineframework of TIP is tested. This study is an investigation into the newlinerelationships between workplace spirituality, job satisfaction and newlineorganizational citizenship behaviors. It examines the relationship newlinebetween three workplace spirituality components meaning and newlinepurpose in work, recognition of an inner life or spirit and newlineinterconnectedness with the various forms in which organizational newlinecitizenship behaviours manifest, mediated by the job satisfaction newlineexperienced by the employees, in the context of an Indian private newlinesector bank. A sample consisting of 613 banking employees was newlinestudied. The results provided considerable support for all except one newlineof the hypothesized relationships between workplace spirituality newlinecomponents and organizational citizenship behaviors. This study can newlineprovide significant inputs to promote managerial effectiveness, newlinechange management, leadership, holistic performance and growth of newlineorganizations, through environments which promote workplace newlinespirituality. newline |
