Modern technology depends on the miniaturisation of devices and newlineprecise control over their properties Ferroelectric materials are the key newlinecomponent of recent technological innovations from under water newlinecommunication to space shuttle They are considered to be smart materials newlineas their characteristic changes depend on the environmental conditions like newlinetemperature and electric field Ferroelectric materials are sub class of newlinepiezoelectric materials They are found to be used in ultrasonic motors newlinevibration dampeners electromechanical positioners and MEMS etc Moreover newlinethey are extensively used in astronomical and naval instruments Relaxors or newlinerelaxor ferroelectrics are special class of ferroelectrics with high dielectric newlineconstant and large piezoelectric values These relaxors are having peculiar newlinecharacteristics like diffuse phase transition and slim hysteresis loop newlineRelaxors in particular with the perovskite ABO3 structure are newlinestudied and used commercially Lead based B site relaxors like newlineare studied extensively due to its high strain capacity and ultrahigh newlinepiezoelectric properties They are destined to be best relaxors for the device newlineapplications newline newlineen_US
