An calculable 17% to 69% of CAUTI may be preventable with suggested infection control measures, which implies that up to 380,000 infections and 9000 deaths associated with CAUTI per year may well be prevented. Infection control plays a very important part in training, education, creating awareness for hand hygiene practice among healthcare workers. Data collection and analysis form an integral part of surveillance. Monthly infection rate is monitored and measures are taken if there is an increase in rate. Daily rounds, training, and education should be given by the ICNs. A Quantitative research approach was considered to be the most appropriate. Keeping in view the objectives of the study, the research design selected for the present study was descriptive observational survey design. The present study was conducted at Adesh institute of medical science and research Hospital, Bhucho Mandi, which is a 850 bedded multi specialty tertiary care hospital situated in campus of Adesh university newline,Bathinda Punjab.
