The thesis entitled Synthesis and Characterization of Some Biological Important First Transition Metal Series Complexes with Medicinally Active Molecules consists of five main chapters namely; [1] Introduction, [2] Materials and methods, [3] Experimental, [4] Results and discussion, [5] Microbial study and Molecular docking and [6] Conclusion. newlineLarge number of the naturally occurring compounds, most of the synthetic drugs possesses nitrogen, oxygen, and Sulphur hetero atomic moieties in their functional groups. These hetero atomic moieties have got the tendency to form complex compounds with biologically important metal ions. Generally, most of the drugs either initially or after metabolic changes in the body acts as a strong chelating ligand to form the stable five or six member chelating rings, literature survey supports that the medicinal properties of many chelating agents are related to their ability to form the stable metal chelate rings. It has been observed in most of the cases metal complexes of medicinal ligands are more potent than the parent ligands in this view metal chelating tendencies of various antibacterial, antimalarial, antileprotic drugs etc. have been studied by number of researchers. newlineThe present trends of research are to protect the life and preserve the health of human kind. In recent year a number of complexes have gained considerable importance mainly because of the fact that such compounds are structurally related to the active chemical constituent of several traditional medicinal plants. Most of the metal complexes possess interesting bio-chemical properties such as antitumor, antioxidant, antifungal and antimicrobial activities. Therefore, synthesis and characterization of such complexes have tremendous newlineSynthesis and Characterisation of Some Biological Important First Transition Metal Series Complexes newlinewith Medicinaly Active Molecules newlinePh.D. Thesis: Vaishali H.
