Abstract: ABSTRACT newline newlineThe moment in which employees attach themselves with their work roles are called as the moments of engagement (Kahn, 1992). In recent years, there has been a great deal of interest in employee engagement. Employees are becoming more diverse. Today organizations are highly complex, more heterogeneous and boundary-less in nature. Organizations are diverse in nature comprising workgroups from different cultures, races, nations, regions and religion. Each individual has its own abilities, feelings, knowledge, skills, perceptions and attitudes. The organizations are competing for talented people who have high performance and high competence in workplace. Expectations are ever increasing not only from the employees but employers as well. It is very challenging for the HR practitioners to effectively manage this diverse workforce and engage them in work, create feeling of belongingness, so that they wholeheartedly contribute towards the attainment of organizational goals, and stay in the organizations for longer and do not mind to go extra miles for the organizations for which they work. newline newlinePresently the education sector in India is in a changing phase, requiring their faculty to be more engaged in academic and research work; so that they can impart knowledge, develop skills and positive attitude of students at all levels. With the quality of education that is at par with the global standards, the students of higher education have better prospects to enter the global markets. So, this study examines the impact of employee engagement on job performance in select B-Schools in Karnataka. newline newlineThe purpose of this research was to propose and empirically test a theoretical relationship model consisting of potential factors affecting Employee Engagement of B-Schools in higher educational sector in Karnataka. Employees from select private B-Schools were selected for conducting this research. For qualitative analysis, semi-structured interviews of 40 participants were conducted. For quantitative analysis, stratified random sampling was used to select 487 respondent teachers from 218 B-Schools in Karnataka. newline newlineA structured questionnaire was designed to collect the data. SPSS ver.25 and AMOS ver. 26 were used for statistical analysis including Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). newlineThis research is to result in the theory building of employee engagement, with the development of employee engagement model for employees in select B-Schools in Karnataka. This model can help the universities and their affiliated colleges and institutes to engage their faculty. The findings of this research will help the educational institution to know the factors that affect the engagement of their employee and levels of engagement among the employee in B-Schools in Karnataka. newline newlineThe theoretical contributions of this this study include the Employee Engagement Model provides an understanding about the various determinants of employee engagement of employee in B- Schools, not only in Karnataka, but also in other states country. Further, the research provides an understanding about the relationship between these determinants of Employee Engagement with Job Performance. This Study also examine the mediating and mediating role including gender, age, income and designation level of employee engagement between the job performance. newline newlineEmployee engagement is a very vast area for research. The present study covers 5 major determinants of the employee engagement rather some other factors such as Rewards and Recognition, Vision and Values, Corporate Social Responsibility, Culture, professional and personal growth may also be taken into consideration by future researchers. The studies may also be conducted on why males perform less as compared with the females when they have good level of engagement? The present study is limited to the selected B-Schools in Bangalore only. The future studies may be conducted on B-schools in the other geographic regions of the country. The future research may compare the relationship of employee engagement with job performance in the all-different regions of the country. newline newline****** newline newline newline
