Abstract: | The cumulative effect of human activity is threatening ecological system upon which we all depend. Today marketers and manufactures do not consider environment deterioration during manufacturing and marketing the products. Environment is also affected by excessive packaging. Manufactures do not consider biodegradable material in packaging. Packaging waste will go to land fill, which create methane and cause land pollution. newlineDue to current concerns about repercussions of global climate change, consumers have become more sensitized to the well being of future generation. This, in turn, sparks interest into the evolvement of environmental consumer issues. Consumers are becoming more aware that their purchasing behaviour impact significantly on the environment. They are insisting on a safer and healthier environment as a result of getting knowledge; researching product information and manufacturing processes and weighing the costs up against the benefits of the product (Abeliotis et al. 2010;Vazifehdoustet al.2013). newlinePackaging, in general term, is a container directly in contact with a product, performing these functions: protection, hold, preservation, facilitation, identification as well as commercialization (VidalesGiovannetti, 1995). From a global point of view, packaging waste generated an important component of solid waste. At present there is about 10 million tons of solid waste annual in the world, and packaging waste accounts for about the total 1/3. To deal with these solid wastes not only need to spend a lot of manpower, material and financial resources, but also caused serious pollution of the natural environment and threatened th |
