Abstract: | Drug delivery is a method of administering drugs or biologically active newlinecompounds in the body in order to attain high therapeutic effects, mostly via nasal, newlinebuccal, sublingual, vaginal, ocular, rectal, intravenous and inhalation routes. As most of newlinethe conventional dosage forms provide immediate drug release and non-uniform newlinebioavailability, novel drug delivery systems with multifunctional characteristics have newlinebeen continuously explored. In this work, layer-by-layer (LbL) assembled multilayer newlinecapsules have been proposed as multi-functional therapeutics. The metallic anisotropic newlinenanoparticles were introduced into the capsule core to impart unique characteristics such newlineas surface plasmon resonance and photothermal conversion in the near-infrared (NIR) newlineregion.
