Abstract: | Despite the wide acceptance of teacher leadership competency in enhancing the newlineteaching and learning quality in developing countries, it is still at a nascent stage in newlineIndia. The Indian teachers were mainly restricted to the conventional chalk and talk newlineclassroom teaching method and reported a consistent lack of training in developing newlineeffective leadership roles, despite having immense capabilities to become efficient newlineleaders. The government has also failed to take the necessary steps to develop newlineleadership skills among teachers. The teachers, thus, fail to recognize their roles as newlineleaders to students. This, in turn, may cause dissatisfaction among the teachers, which, newlineconsequently, has a cascading effect on the outcomes of students. In this context, the newlinecurrent study intended to analyze the impact of teacher leadership competency (TLC) newlineon job satisfaction (JS) of teachers and students outcomes, along with the impact of newlineteachers job satisfaction on students outcomes. Moreover, the current study also newlineaimed to explore the association of teacher leadership competency and their job newlinesatisfaction for demographic variables. newlineThe hypotheses of the study were tested through a well-structured questionnaire and the newlinequantitative responses obtained from 500 secondary school teachers of Hassan district, newlineKarnataka was evaluated. Interviews were also conducted among selected newlineHeadmaster/Headmistress or Principals for obtaining qualitative data. The collected newlinequantitative data were analysed using SPSS 24. Simple and multiple linear regressions newlinewere employed to understand causal associations between the dependent and newlineindependent variables. To confirm the conceptual framework created for this study, newlineStructural Equation Modelling (SEM) was employed by using Analysis of a Moment newlineStructures (AMOS) software. newlineThe outcomes revealed a positive correlation between sub-constructs of TLC [teacher newlinementorship (TM), the leadership of developmental tasks (LDT) and leadership of newlinepedagogy (LP)] and Job satisfaction (workgroups |
