It is newlinenot confined to the study of the shapes of letters but endeavours to go beyond the newlinemere shapes and search for the different traditions on account of particular techniques. newlineIt deals with the art of writing which distinguish man from animals and provides the newlineformer with an instrument for transmission of racial tradition from generation to newlinegeneration. Writing has been the foundation for the development of the newlineconsciousnessand intellect of man.Writing that is the use of graphic signs for the systematic description of newlinespoken language is a major achievement in the history of mankind, the earliest newlineinscribed objects have been found at various archaeological sites in Mesopotamia and newlineEgypt among the remains of settlements dated to the end of the fourth millennium newlineB.C. the appearance of such inscriptions marks the beginning of the historic age, newlinesucceeding the pre and proto historic ages when man had no knowledge of writing. newlinePre historic man did give expression to his aspiration and desires in drawings on rock newlinefaces and cave walls, but only in the historic era did man begin to depict single newlineworlds.
