Abstract: Objectives: To study the effect of and Jatamnsi and Mandukaparni churna in the management of ADHD. newlineMethodology A Randomized controlled clinical study was planned to evaluate the efficacy of Jatamansi churna and Mandukaparni churna with Anupan Madhu and Feingold diet, sadvritta palan should be advise in ADHD children who were diagnosed using standard diagnostic criteria i.e. DSM-IV scale. newlineStudy Period: - 4 yr newlineInclusion Criteria Children of either sex between the age group of 5 to 15 year fulfilling DSM- IV criteria for ADHD newlineExclusion criteria:and#61656; Known cases of any acute or chronic illnesses e.g GE, TB, malignancy and on chronic medication etc.and#61656; Known cases of seizures, Epilepsy, Bipolar Disorder etc. newlineSample size 156 Number of sample size is calculated on base of prevalence of ADHD and by using formula N = Z2 X P (1-P)/d2 number of sample is calculated. Total number of sample size in this study 156 Patients Recruited 160 Drop out 4 newlineType of Randomization Randomization was done through online sealed envelope randomization and online database for clinical trial. Subject Identification Patients attending Kaumarabhritya OPD of BLDE AVS Ayurveda hospital among children s and various schools are selected and those children s fulfilled DSM-IV criteria and included in the study. Contact was established with more than 10 schools in Bijapur to identify children s having learning and attention difficulties, performing poorly/below average in class and showing features of hyperactivity. About more newlinethan 300 children screened and identified by school teachers were referred out of which 160 children fulfilled DSM-IV criteria and included in the study. Treatment Protocol newlineChild will be screened first with DSM-IV scale. If 6 or more of the following symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity have been present for at least 6 months then child will be includedin the study.
